Pastor Daren C. Jaime

A relevant, anointed, and emerging voice in the clarion call for God – are just some of
the ways others have described the ministry of the gifted Pastor Daren C. Jaime.
Since arriving at People’s A.M.E. Zion Church on October 22, 2006, Pastor Jaime’s
unique approach weaves together traditional and contemporary styles of preaching and
worship without compromising either one. The result is an exponential growth in both
the ministry and in the membership of People’s.
Having a shepherd’s heart coupled with doing the work of an evangelist, Pastor Jaime
continuously expands his ministry through building bridges, reaching across and beyond
denominational and generational lines. His efforts focus on meeting the diverse needs of multi-denominational congregations and the community.
Born and raised in Harlem, New York. Pastor Jaime’s road to ministry began in 1994, by acknowledging the call and preaching his trial sermon at the Saint Frances A.M.E. Zion Church in Port Chester, New York. He served under the tutelage of his pastor
and mentor, the late Reverend Dr. Patricia A. Tyson. Immediately before coming to
People’s, Pastor Jaime held pastorate to the Saint Francis A.M.E. Zion Church in Mount Kisco, New York from 2001 to 2006.
An effective communicator in various forms of media, Pastor Jaime is also a broadcast
television journalist with past assignment ranging from local New York courthouses
to The White House. Presently he can be seen on Bronxnet Cable Television where
he is the host of “Perspectives” and “Open” in Bronx, New York and hosts a weekly
radio program on Clear Channel called “Power Perspectives” 620AM in Syracuse. His
Sunday messages are heard on WSIV 1540AM. He has also been a guest on several
national radio and television programs, providing commentaries on news, sports, and
major national and religious events.
Pastor Jaime is recognized locally and nationally for his accomplishments in church
circles, the community and in television. Once quoted as saying, “…everyone should be
encouraged to use all that we have to be a bright light. First, be a light to all those who
live in darkness. Secondly, share your light with someone else whose bulb may have
become burned out by the trials of life!”
Pastor Jaime is the proud father of one son, Christopher Isaiah Jaime.
